New Seagrass Collection from Carolina Herrera

Seagrass pays tribute to the skill of our master artisans. In doing so, Carolina Herrera highlights the importance of incorporating different artisan techniques that support traditional crafts, whilst at the same time revealing their more contemporary side.

It is with this idea in mind that Seagrass was born, based on the manual process in which bags are made using braided seaweed. Skilled hands weave the stems of this marine plant to create the bags’ body before combining them with the House of Herrera’s exclusive Baobab leather; a process which is completed in our Leather Atelier in Spain.

Vendôme Bag, a bag that conveys the charm and horizontal form of Place Vendôme from which it takes its name. The incorporation of the new material gives it a summery feel.
With Initials Insignia Bag, a characteristic metallic clasp is formed by rotating the C and the H of Carolina’s initials. In this new Seagrass version, the clasp is used to combine the two materials by placing it between the leather flap and the braided seaweed body.
Duchess Bag is a tribute to the elegance and style that make a person stand out from the crowd. It is the bag in which the seaweed braiding technique is most visible, with the leather being positioned more discreetly, whilst maintaining its importance.
