CityCenterDC Welcomes Spring with a Celebration of the City’s Iconic Cherry Blossoms

From pretty pink blooms suspended over Palmer Alley and fantastical floral-themed cocktails to the return of The Grove, CityCenterDC salutes the spring season.

Washington, DC (March 20, 2024) – As Washingtonians and visitors alike celebrate the world-famous
cherry blossom’s colorful grand entrance, CityCenterDC is signaling the start of spring with an array of art
installations, lively programming and delicious dining designed to celebrate the city’s most beloved
season.

“Every year, all eyes are on Washington, DC as our iconic cherry blossom trees bloom and leave the city
awash in pink. With our prime location in the heart of DC, CityCenterDC serves as a popular destination
for cherry blossom season revelers,” said Timothy R. Lowery, General Manager of CityCenterDC. “From
our highly anticipated annual Palmer Alley art installation to this year’s installation of The Grove, spring
is such a special time of year for CityCenterDC.”

Visitors are encouraged to explore the spring offerings at CityCenterDC, including a stroll down Palmer
Alley. From now through Memorial Day, the annual spring art installation–this year featuring delicate
pink paper blooms and lanterns–is suspended overhead. The artistic interpretation of DC’s iconic cherry
blossoms elevates the retail destination’s spring atmosphere–and serves as a popular Instagram photo
spot.

Perfectly timed to celebrate the season, CityCenterDC restaurants will offer special drink menus with
cherry blossom-themed cocktails, plus a commemorative glass that can be taken home to enjoy
throughout the season. Centrolina will be offering a Cherry Blossom Spritz, along with Fig and Olive
crafting a Cherry Blossom Sour infused with tequila and maraschino liqueur. Estuary and Seven Reasons
are each featuring their own signature cocktails–a refreshing Kyoto Spring Cocktail and an exotic
Amazonian Blossom Negroni. Piccolina will be offering the Fiore di Ciliegio, a citrusy cocktail with lemon
gin, Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water and cherry blossom syrup.

Making its return for the second year, The Grove will be unveiled this spring. The Grove: Peach Perfection
will bring spring to life with an inviting, lush pergola draped in colorful florals, surrounded by a garden of
blooming trees. This year’s installation is inspired by Pantone’s Color of the Year, Peach Fuzz, which is
meant to symbolize a sense of calm and togetherness. The celebratory installation, created by DC-based
Social Supply, is designed to offer CityCenterDC visitors a contemplative spot to soak in the warmth of
spring.
