Palmer Alley

CityCenterDC Welcomes Fall with New Installations, Performances, and Experiences.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This fall, CityCenterDC invites the community to enter the season with new activities and immersive installations. Designed to enhance the energy of the season, CityCenterDC will transform into a destination where residents and visitors alike can gather outdoors, enjoy cultural programming, see a new installation, and experience downtown DC in new and exciting ways.

Palmer Alley will unveil a new fall installation just before Labor Day weekend. Blending the beauty of
autumn with CityCenter’s signature colors, Fall Cascade features a layered palette of warm corals, rich reds, and deep plums to capture the essence of seasonal transition—much like autumn leaves shifting from the vibrant energy of early fall to the richer, moodier tones of late season. Designed to resemble ribbons floating effortlessly in the sky, the display’s apparent simplicity is deceiving; each element is meticulously crafted to create layers of movement and depth, transforming Palmer Alley into a striking autumn canopy overhead. This beautiful display will provide a new seasonal backdrop for shopping, dining, and strolling through CityCenterDC.

With generous support from the Deputy Mayor’s Office of Planning and Economic Development and the DowntownDC BID, CityCenterDC is teeing up a new interactive experience with the debut of PUTT in the Park. Opening September 8th in The Park at CityCenterDC, the playful six-hole course invites guests of all ages to practice their putting and enjoy a touch of friendly competition in the heart of downtown. The custom-designed course will feature six distinct holes, offering a variety of free fun challenges that bring a new interactive twist to the CityCenterDC experience.

Back by popular demand, The Washington Ballet will return to CityCenterDC this fall with special
performances previewing their 2025–26 season. Audiences will have the chance to enjoy a preview of the upcoming season, making these rescheduled performances a truly unique opportunity to experience the artistry and excitement ahead. The free, hour-long performances will take place on Friday, September 26 at 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Seating will begin 30 minutes prior to each performance and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rounding out the season’s programming, the popular CityCenterDC Farmers Market will continue through October. Each Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the lunchtime market invites visitors to explore fresh, locally grown produce, baked goods, specialty foods, and handcrafted artisanal products—all while supporting regional farmers and small businesses in the heart of downtown D.C.
